The foundations of The Home of Horror were laid back in 1925 when Universal Pictures launched the hugely successful Phantom of the Opera. In the 1930s, Universal further built the horror genre with the classic monster movies Frankenstein, The Mummy, Dracula and The Invisible Man. The genre continued to grow in the 1940s with titles including Lon Chaney Jr's memorable performance as The Wolfman in 1941.
